Evening primrose is a yellow colored wild flower also known as Oenothera biennis. It is used for medicines for centuries. The oil, which is obtained by pressing its seeds, has high amounts of linoleic acid, an essential fatty acid (EFA). This acid is not produced by human body and thus needs to be taken externally. Nuts and seeds are good sources of EFAs.
